Chatham Head Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Erin Gale enters her second year with the Cougars in 2020-21.

Gale comes to Chatham University from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky where she previously served as the cross country and track and field assistant coach. Prior to Transylvania, she also served as an assistant coach at Division I University of Louisville where she worked with the coaching staff, recruited, and specialized in compliance and academics.

Gale ran for Division I Ohio University where she still holds the 3200-meter relay record. After her undergraduate career, she went on to serve as a graduate assistant at William Woods University where she obtained a Master of Education in Athletics/Activities Administration.

To Chatham, Gale brings her specialties in mid-distance and distance events as well as developing training plans, meet preparation, and administrative duties such as recruiting.

In the 2019 Cross Country season, Gale coached first-year Emma Kline to a PAC Newcomer of the Year Award. During the 2019-20 Indoor season, she helped Jacobi Garrett to Chatham's second PAC Newcomer of the Year accolade. For the 2020 Track and Field season, both of Gale's programs earned USTFCCCA All-Academic status.
