Sam Schuster enters his second season at Chatham as Recruiting Coordinator in the 2026-2027 school year. During his first year on staff at Chatham, Chatham became only the 3rd PAC school in history to eclipse the 30-win mark, received votes in the national Top 25 rankings (climbing as high as #25), made the PAC tournament for the first time in program history, and won their first two conference tournament games.
Sam coordinated the Cougar recruiting efforts while also serving as the team's hitting coach for an offense that set program bests for hits, runs, doubles, RBI, base on balls, HBP's, and on-base percentage.
Sam joined Chatham for the 2025-2026 school year after serving as a graduate assistant baseball coach at Otterbein in 2024-2025. At Otterbein, Sam worked with hitters and catchers while assisting in recruiting, scouting, and day-to-day operations. Sam helped lead the Otterbein offense to garner three All-OAC selections in Charlie Greenlief, Jamie Perebzak, and Logan Ullom.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Otterbein, Sam coached three years of club baseball for the CLE Prospects as both an Assistant and a Head Coach. During his playing days, Sam was a four-year member of the baseball team at Washington and Jefferson College. As a catcher, Sam was a 4-time PAC Champion and made 4 NCAA Regional Tournament appearances. A career .292 hitter, Sam was named a captain in his senior year and was also named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll. Sam graduated with a bachelor's degree in history.
