Sam comes to Chatham for the 2025-2026 school year after serving as a graduate assistant baseball coach at Otterbein in 2024-2025. At Otterbein, Sam worked with hitters and catchers while assisting in recruiting, scouting, and day-to-day operations. Sam helped lead the Otterbein offense to garner three All-OAC selections in Charlie Greenlief, Jamie Perebzak, and Logan Ullom.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Otterbein, Sam coached three years of club baseball for the CLE Prospects as both an Assistant and a Head Coach. During his playing days, Sam was a four-year member of the baseball team at Washington and Jefferson College. As a catcher, Sam was a 4-time PAC Champion and made 4 NCAA Regional Tournament appearances. A career .292 hitter, Sam was named a captain in his senior year and was also named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll. Sam graduated with a bachelor's degree in history
