PITTSBURGH, PA - The women's soccer team claims a huge win against PAC opponent Hiram on a special day celebrating both Senior Day and Homecoming.
Prior to kickoff, four Cougars were recognized as being the graduating class of 2027. Congratulations to Campbell Davis, Elizabeth Gallup, Ally Rynd, and Sarah Vescio.
The Cougars started off the game strong and fast. All 3 goals came from the first half, with the first two goals scored by junior Helen Bossart in the 19th and 22nd minute. It did not take long for the Cougars to find the back of the net once again. In the 28th minute, first year Amelia Anderson recorded her first goal of the season. Going into halftime, the Cougars held a 3-0 lead, with goalie Kyanni Escudero anchoring the defense.
In the second half, the Cougars let one goal slide through the defense in the 70th minute. However, the Cougars were able to hold strong and prevented any further goals. The Cougars snagged their first home game of the season to end the Homecoming weekend.
The Cougars will be home again on Tuesday, September 29th at 5:00PM, as they take on Thiel at UPMC Graham Field.
