Men's Soccer Draws in Final Non-Conference Matchup

Box Score Columbus, Ohio - On Saturday, the Cougars (2-5-1) took on the Capital Comets (1-3-1) in the final game before PAC play begins on Wednesday September 24th. After a first half that saw only one shot on goal, the Cougars and Comets both scored in the second half leading to a 1-1 draw.

The Cougars after not scoring for the first nearly sixty minutes in the game, got the scoring started with a Izeyah Romo goal assisted by Justin Knox and Josiah Lewis to put the Cougars ahead by a score of 1-0. The Comets answered back with a goal of their own with 19 minutes left in the game. After the Comets scored the Cougars only had one shot on goal, a shot by Jonah Lewis in the last 20 seconds that was saved by the Comets goalkeeper.

Maxwell Cottrill and Elijah Smith split the game in net with Cottrill playing the first half and Smith the second.

The Cougars will be back in action on September 24th when they travel to Meadville, Pa. to take on Allegheny to open PAC play.
