CRESSON, PA – Chatham Baseball (16-21, 8-10 PAC) was defeated in their final non-conference game of the season by Mount Aloysius (27-10, 7-5 AMCC) on Wednesday evening 10-9.
The Cougars loaded the bases in the first inning and scored 2 runs when
Peter Tadic walked and
Eddie Rueda came home on a double play ball. The Mounties responded by scoring 5 runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-2 lead. In the third,
Nolan Boehm socked an RBI double to cut the Chatham deficit to 2 before 2 more Mount Aloysius runs crossed the plate in the bottom half. Down 7-3, the Cougars clawed back with a run in the fifth via
Nolan Boehm's RBI single and another in the sixth when
Dominic Colarusso scored on a ground out. Chatham's offense broke through with 4 runs in the eighth when Colarusso scored again on a DeLeonardis base hit,
Devin Fluhmann scored on a wild pitch and
Eddie Rueda's double brought in DeLeonardis and
Jake Bredl. The Mounties would not be done yet, however, as they erased the 9-7 deficit with 3 runs of their own in the eighth to claim the victory.
Bredl went 3-4 at the plate for the Cougars and scored a run. Boehm was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, and Colarusso went 2-4 with 2 runs scored. DeLeonardis and Rueda also came through with 2 runs driven in.

David McSorley and
Kole Mayle all tossed scoreless innings in relief for Chatham with just one walk and one hit allowed between the four.
The Cougars will host Franciscan on Saturday for a senior day doubleheader to wrap up the regular season at 2 p.m.
