Brunner Earns Runner-Up in Long Jump at Day One of NCAAs

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Friday, Chatham's Aurielle Brunner completed the first of two days at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. 

Brunner competed in the long jump, in which she placed second with a personal-best distance of 5.97 meters, and the pentathlon, where she finished in 13th with a total of 3,385 points.

For the pentathlon, she placed fifth in the long jump (5.55 meters), eighth in the high jump (1.57 meters),16th in the shot put (9.88 meters), 16th in the 800-meter (2:34.39) and 17th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.50 seconds).

With her runner-up finish in the long jump, Brunner is now a six-time All-American overall for her track & field career.  She will look to add to that total tomorrow when she competes in the triple jump, beginning at 11 a.m.
