YOUNGSTOWN, OH - It was a long day for the Chatham men's and women's indoor track and field teams as they headed to Ohio for the YSU Ice Breaker meet.
Sophomore
Najiyah Smith would give the team a start to the season with a 9th place finish in the high jump where she reached 1.39m. She would add on to her accolades with a 25th place finish in the triple jump at 9.47m. To round out the day, she added a 49th place finish in the long jump with a 4.10m jump.
Sophomore
Samantha Guerrero Mendoza would get a 35th place finish in shot put with a throw of 8.26m. Fellow sophomore,
Aster Davarpanah would follow behind her with a 39th place finish with a throw of 7.14m. Both Guerrero Mendoza (43rd) and Davarpanah (44th) would also throw in the weight throw.
As for the men, freshman,
Julien Collyer, would complete the 200m in 25.22 second and the 60m qualifying in 7.78 seconds. Junior
Killian Brown would compete in those same events and complete them with the times of 27.25 second and 8.23 seconds.
The Cougars have a break before their next meet on January 17th when they head to New Concord, OH for Muskie Meet #1 at 11AM.
