Men's Basketball Tops Barons for 10th Straight Win

Box Score PITTSBURGH - Chatham Men's Basketball (18-3, 15-1) earned their 10th straight win with a 85-65 victory over the Franciscan Barons (13-8, 8-8) on Wednesday at the Athletic and Fitness Center.

The Cougars have matched the program record for conference wins in a season and are now one win away from matching the program's longest ever win streak, set in in the 2021-22 campaign.

Lovenson Xavier led the way in scoring yet again with 22 points on 8-14 shooting and six rebounds. Diaun Pinkett scored 17 points on 5-8 shooting from the field and 6-9 shooting from the foul line. Pinkett also contributed six rebounds and five assists. Simon Boyer went 6-11 from the field and finished with 13 points and four boards. Blaine Gartley netted 10 points to go along with five assists, four steals and three rebounds.

The Cougars shot 57.9% (33-57) from the field, while the Barons shot just 37.5% (21-56). The visitors narrowly won the rebound battle 34-32, but Chatham found a better rhythm offensively, with 19 assists to just four for Franciscan.

Chatham Men's Basketball will look for that record-tying 11th straight win on Saturday when they host the Thiel Tomcats at the AFC.
