Women's Basketball Set for PAC Final at W&J

PITTSBURGH – On Saturday, the defending PAC Champion Chatham Cougars will look to win their second consecutive PAC title as they visit the one-seeded W&J Presidents in the Final at 4:30 p.m. at the Salvitti Family Gymnasium.

The Cougars, who captured the three-seed in this year's tournament, come into the game with a 21-5 overall record and a 17-3 conference record, while the Presidents own a 22-4 record with an 18-2 record in PAC play.
Chatham defeated Bethany and Allegheny on their way to the finals. W&J, who earned a first-round bye, took down Grove City in the Semifinal on Thursday.

The Cougars and Presidents split the regular season series with the home team winning each matchup. On Nov. 26 in Washington, W&J won 64-54, when Chatham's leading scorer was Hannah Chenault at 13 points. Chenault also led the way in the rematch in Pittsburgh on Jan. 22, scoring 20 points on 5-10 shooting as the Cougars claimed a 67-62 victory. Charjae Brock and Madison Nereu scored 13 and 12 points respectively in that game, and they each added seven boards to lead the team.

Chatham owns the #1 scoring offense (77.2 points per game) and the #1 scoring defense (53.7 points allowed per game) in the conference, while W&J ranks second in both, with 74.7 points per game and 56.2 points allowed per game.

Chatham's leading scorer Ashlie Louden ranks fourth in the league with 14.8 points per game, while W&J's Stellanie Loutsion sits at sixth with 13.4 points per contest.

The winner of the PAC's Championship Tournament will receive the league's automatic qualifying bid to this year's Division III Championship Tournament. The selected Division III Championship teams, as well as the first and second round site selections, will be announced Monday, March 3rd. First and second round games are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, March 7-8.
