BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Chatham Men's Volleyball (3-8, 0-3 PAC) captured the first set of their match against Geneva (8-9, 3-2) on Wednesday night, but was ultimately defeated by the Golden Tornadoes 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-18).
Owen Kelley recorded 15 kills to lead Geneva on .294 hitting, also contributing 3 aces and 7 digs. Evan Puhl had 10 kills with a .556 attack efficiency and blocked 6 Cougar attacks. Andrew Ubinger finished with 10 kills and 9 aces for the Golden Tornadoes, who hit .240 in the match. Joshua Sangrey tallied a match high 11 digs, Daniel Spear recorded a match high 8 blocks, and Colton Alfaro had a team high 28 assists for Geneva. The Golden Tornadoes held a 14-4 advantage in blocks.
For Chatham,
Logan Pack filled up the stat sheet with a team high 15 kills, 3 aces and 7 digs.
Benjamin Shelestak recorded 8 kills and
Tim McCabe had 7 kills on .294 hitting for the Cougars.
RJ Nagg dished out a match high 34 assists to the Chatham attackers and recorded 3 service aces. Defensively,
Luke Hoolahan registered a team high 9 digs. The Cougars finished with a .059 attacking percentage.
