Box Score Utica, N.Y. - On Friday the Cougars (2-19-2) kicked off their final weekend series of the season with a midday matchup with the #13 Utica Pioneers (17-7). The Cougars were outmatched in this one as the Pioneers took an early lead in the game and never looked back as the Cougars lost by a final score of 7-0.

The Pioneers took the lead less than three minutes into the game and added one more goal in the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission. The Pioneers would add two more goals in the second period to grow their lead to 4-0 as the teams took their last break. In the third period the Pioneers added three more goals and won 7-0.

The Cougars were led by Emery Gelinas and Kylie Shannon who had 2 blocks to help their goalie. 

The Cougars and Pioneers will complete the regular season on Saturday February 22nd with a 2 PM puck drop in Utica, N.Y.
