Women's Volleyball Wins Again in West Virginia

Bethany, W. Va. – Chatham Women's Volleyball (11-3, 6-1 PAC) held onto their spot at the top of the PAC South division in dominant fashion on Wednesday night with a straight set (25-18, 25-22, 25-9) win at Bethany (5-11, 2-5).
 
The Cougars pounced on the Bison early, winning the first four points of the match with the help of two service aces from Delaney Schwind. Bethany would come back to even the set, but Chatham took six of the final seven points for the match lead. It was the Bison who had the early advantage in the second frame, but a 5-0 Cougar run propelled by three consecutive aces from Sierra Ricci put Chatham in front 14-10. Bethany would not lead the rest of the match, and Annika Solfronk closed the set with a kill. Set three was all Cougars, who led 10-2 to start and used 4 kills from Becca Gesner along with 3 more aces from Ricci to put an exclamation point on the evening's performance.
 
Chatham hit .221 for the match, its third-best percentage of the season, and held a 38-17 advantage over Bethany in kills. The Cougars held the Bison to a .000 hitting percentage and finished the match with 11 aces to Bethany's 4.
 
Gesner was the only player in the match to reach double digits in kills, recording 10 with a .421 attacking percentage. Solfronk and Paige Watson each tallied 7 kills for Chatham. Ricci served up 6 aces, tied for the second-most in a match for a PAC player in 2025, while also recording a match-high 18 digs. Schwind dished out a match-high 18 assists to the Cougars' attack and picked up 2 aces. Evelyn White also had 2 aces and blocked a Bison attack.
 
Chatham hosts Westminster on Saturday at the Athletic Fitness Center, with the start time for the Cougars' next match scheduled for 12 p.m.
