Swim and Dive Battle with the Bearcats

LATROBE, PA - It was a tough start to the season for the Chatham men's (0-1) and women's (0-1) swimming and diving teams as they were taken down by the Saint Vincent Bearcats (1-1).

On the women's side, the Cougars would have a handful of top finishers in multiple team and individual events.

Team wise, the women would place second in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay. Both Relay teams would include Hannah Uhrinek, Carlie McClurg, Adela Holland, and Olivia Mucha. On the individual side of things, Uhrinek would place first in both the 100 and 200 Butterfly. Mucha would place first in the 100 and 200 Backstroke, Alayna Kercher would place first in the 1000 Freestyle, and Holland would place first in the 100 Freestyle.

In the end, the Bearcats would outscore the Cougars 147-94.

On the men's side, the Cougars would have a tougher time earning team points with only two top finishers. Cal Hockman would place first in the 100 Backstroke while Max Rollins would place first in the 100 Freestyle.

This would allow the Bearcats to defeat the Cougars 195-45.

The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow, October 25th, when they travel to Wheeling, WV to take on Wheeling and Bethany at 4 PM.
