Box Score GREENVILLE, PA - The Chatham men's soccer team (2-6-3, 0-1-2 PAC) was unable to hold onto the lead as Thiel (3-6-1, 0-2-1 PAC) level playing field for a 1-1 tie.Â
It was an almost quiet night in Greenville, but a goal from both the Cougars and the Tomcats, only a minute apart, would determine the outcome of tonight's conference game. The Cougars would wait until there were five minutes left in the first half before sophomore
Bryce Grubic would find the back of the net and give the Cougars the lead. The Tomcats would be awarded a penalty kick not even a minute later that would allow them to tie the game.Â
Neither the Cougars nor the Tomcats would come out on top in the second half, but the Cougars would not give up and fought until the final whistle. They came away with seven shots on goal, compared to Thiel's three. Grubic would be responsible for two of those seven while sophomore
Christopher Colonna and freshman
Josiah Lewis would add two more each of their own. Junior goalkeeper
Maxwell Cottrill only had to make two saves on the night as the back line kept the Tomcats away.Â
The Cougars will hit the road again this Saturday, October 4, when they head to Bethany, W.V. when they take on the Bethany Bison at 2 PM.Â
