Pittsburgh, Pa. - On Friday, the Cougars hosted the #4 ranked Adrian Bulldogs. The Cougars fell by a final score of 8-0.
In the first period, the Cougars were unable to find the back of the net and the Bulldogs relentless offense netted the first goal of the game. Despite
Samantha Brophy saving 26 shots the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into the break.
In the second period, the Bulldogs continued their offensive onslaught scoring three more goals on 26 shots on goal. The Cougars had seven shots on goal in the period but were unable to convert on any of them. After the second period the Bulldogs held a 4-0 lead.
In the third period it was more of the same. The Bulldogs scored four more goals on 30 shots on goal. The Cougars were unable to get a shot on goal in the third period and lost by a final score of 8-0.
Brophy ended the game with 75 saves and a 90.4% save rate. Defensively
Samantha Barrett and
Rainey Jessup had four blocks each.
The Cougars will be back in action on January 14th when they travel to play Cortland with a 5 PM puck drop.
