PITTSBURGH - Chatham Women's Lacrosse (4-3, 1-0) opened PAC play with a 19-15 win over the Westminster Titans (1-6, 0-1) on Wednesday night at UPMC Graham Field. The Cougars scored 19 goals for the second game in a row to earn their third consecutive win.

Sam Beall-Dennell matched her career high of six goals and added an assist to lead the Chatham attack. Senior
Stephanie Walter also tallied seven points on four goals and three assists. Senior
Felicia Hutter scored six goals to set a new career high and caused five turnovers, which is also a career best. Graduate student
Bailey Donofrio found the net twice, while freshman
Izzy Davanti added a goal of her own.
The Cougars jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead when Hutter scored twice in the opening minute just eight seconds apart. After the Titans cut the lead to one, Beall-Dennell scored her first of the day while Chatham was a woman down. The two sides traded quick goals twice before Hutter's third marker of the quarter made the score 6-3 in favor of the Cougars.
Chatham scored three times in the first five minutes of the second quarter, including two from Donofrio, to go up 9-4. Westminster got one back at 9:06 to make it 9-5, but Chatham regained the five-goal advantage on a free-position goal from Walter. The Titans would score in the closing seconds of the first half to make it 10-6 Cougars going into halftime.
A 4-1 run from Chatham to open the second half gave the Cougars their largest lead of the day at 14-7, but the Titans responded with four straight goals to storm back into the game. Another free-position goal from Beall-Dennell was answered by Westminster and the two teams entered the final period at 15-12.
The Titans began the fourth quarter by cutting the lead to two, but goals from Walter, Beall-Dennell and Davanti in a two-minute span gave the Cougars breathing room. Westminster threatened again with two goals in a minute, but another goal from Hutter increased the lead to four and marked the final goal of the game.
Chatham dominated the shot total 44-25 and won draws 22-15. The Cougars were 4-7 on free-position shots while the Titans came up empty on all four attempts.
Next up for Chatham Women's Lacrosse is one final non-conference matchup at home on Saturday against Marymount.
