Pittsburgh, Pa. - On Saturday, the Cougars hosted the SUNY Geneseo Knights for the second game of the weekend series and fell by a score of 7-0.
The Knights struck first just over a minute into the game. The Cougars would answer back five-and-a-half minutes later when first year
Tyler Samodral scored his first career goal off the assists of
Devin Nabozny and
Kadsen Johnson. The Knights regained the lead with 7:18 left in the first period and led at the break 2-1.
In the second period the Knights peppered Cougar goaltender
Louis Finnegan with 21 shots on goal but only scored one goal. After the second period the score was 3-1 in favor of the Knights.
In the third period the Cougars scored two more goals to make it 3-3 First it was
Milan Cermak assisted by
Devin Nabozny and
Dylan Young. The second goal was scored by
Bekk McClaine assisted by
True Crowe and
Nick Cyprian. That was the first goal of the season for both players. The Knights would then score the final three goals of the game and win 6-3. Finnegan ended the game with 53 saves. Kamden Smith and Kadsen Thompson led the Cougars with three blocks a piece.
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday November 15th when they travel to Nazareth University for a 7 PM puck drop in Rochester, N.Y.
