Cougars Close Out Opening Weekend Against Drexel, Penn

PHILADELPHIA – Chatham Squash dropped both of their matches against top-10 teams on Sunday.
 
The men's team (2-3) lost to both No. 7 Drexel and No. 1 Penn by 9-0 scorelines. Senior Jared Nalliah (6-11, 1-11, 11-9, 11-3, 4-11) and junior Alejandro Cruz (10-12, 12-14, 11-3, 11-9, 1-11) both pushed their matches to 5 games against the Dragons (4-1). In the four-seed matchup against the Quakers (5-0), junior Muhammad Hassaan Raza (9-11, 11-9, 4-11, 11-5, 2-11) came one game shy of a match victory.
 
Women's Squash (1-4) was defeated by No. 10 Drexel 8-1. Sophomore Clara Braga (11-9, 11-9, 11-5) earned the Cougar point by sweeping her four-seed matchup against the Dragons (2-1). The Cougars fell in their second match to No.3 Penn (3-0) by a 9-0 final.
 
Next weekend, Chatham Men's and Women's Squash will travel to Charlottesville, Virginia to take on the sixth-ranked Cavaliers at 1p.m. on Nov. 24.
