PITTSBURGH PA - The Chatham Cougars took down the Thiel Tomcats in an explosive game this evening.
Chatham took an early lead in the first half with
Azavier Coppin's opening goal in the 4' minute. The score wouldn't stay at 1-0 for long however as
Justin Knox would net another goal for the Cougars in the 17' minute.
Later on in the half, the Tomcat's offense would come alive in the 23' minute as Hunter Blatt finds the back of the net. The Cougars would then go into halftime a goal ahead.
Thiel came out in the second half and got things started right away with Mitchell Strauss' 45' minute goal, assisted by Ethan Bihler.
The Cougars were looking for the tie breaking goal and would get it in the form of Bryce Gubric who beat the Thiel goalkeeper in the 69' minute making the score 3-2 in Chatham's favor.
The Cougars would then go on to secure their victory in the 85' minute with a goal from
Emilio Herrera, assisted by
Azavier Coppin, and the game would end 4-2.
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, October 5th against Bethany at 1pm.
