CANTON, N.Y. - Jan. 26, 2024 - Chatham Squash went 1-1 against the Amherst Mammoths (Men 10-6, Women 11-6). The men were victorious 5-4, while the women were swept 9-0.
For the men, junior
Jared Nalliah (11-7, 11-8, 11-9) and sophomore
Sebastian Antonio Vaca Sanchez (11-5, 11-5, 11-4) both swept their opponents. On the women's side, freshman
Clara Braga (11-6, 3-11, 11-2, 11-9) and sophomore
Basmala Syed Aref (9-11, 11-8, 11-1, 11-4) were the only two to win a set.
The men ended their five-match skid and are now 2-5 on the year. The women are also 2-5 but have now lost five consecutive matches.
Squash returns on Saturday at 12 p.m. against St. Lawrence.
