MARIETTA, Ohio - September 5, 2023 - Chatham Women's Soccer took its first loss of the season Tuesday evening with a 2-1 defeat at Marietta. The Cougars are now 0-1-1 on the year.

Chatham got on the board first when sophomore defender Lizzy Martz scored her first goal of the season on a free kick from deep in the 5th minute, but the Cougars offensive output would end there.

The Pioneers rallied in the second half with goals in the 56th and 59th minutes to jump ahead.

Senior goalkeeper Hannah Ehrlich made eight saves in net for Chatham.

Marietta had 10 shots on goal to just six for Chatham. Corner kicks were 6-5 in favor of the Pioneers.

Women's Soccer returns to action Saturday when they again travel to Ohio, this time to take on Otterbein.
