PITTSBURGH, Pa. - September 5, 2023 - Chatham Men's Soccer suffered a 7-1 loss in the home opener Tuesday evening to Fredonia. With the loss, the Cougars are now 1-2 on the season.
The first half was dominated by the Blue Devils, who netted five goals in the opening 45 minutes.
Chatham got one back right out of the gate of the second half when freshman forward 
Azavier Coppin scored off a free kick right on the edge of the box. Coppin now has three goals on the season, which leads the team.
Fredonia would tack on two more goals in the final 25 minutes to put the finishing touches on.
The Cougars were outshot 17-2 on shots on goal and the Blue Devils took seven corners to Chatham's two.
Men's Soccer is back at UPMC Graham Field on Saturday for a match against Oberlin.
