WAYNESBURG, Pa. - September 23, 2023 - Chatham Men's Soccer suffered its third-straight loss in a 3-1 defeat at Waynesburg (4-3, 1-1) on Saturday. The Cougars are now 1-7-1 on the season and 0-2 in conference.
The Yellow Jackets put up a quick score out of the gate in the sixth minute and then tacked on another in the 19th minute to take command early. The Cougars responded later in the half when freshman
Xavier Johnston scored his first career goal with an assist from freshman
Azavier Coppin, but Waynesburg would score again before the end of the first half to increase the lead to 3-1 and end the scoring.
Each goalkeeper made four saves in the match. The Yellow Jackets took seven shots on goal to the Cougars' five, and Waynesburg won 10 corner kicks, compared to Chatham's two.
Men's Soccer is back at Graham Field on Wednesday to host W&J.
