PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 19, 2023 - Chatham Men's Lacrosse hosted Allegheny tonight in their fourth PAC matchup of the season. Despite a close first half, Allegheny would pull ahead in the second, minimizing the Cougars' scoring chances and taking the game 8-4.
First-year Jacob Lubawy was the Cougars' main source of offense, scoring a hat trick and registering a team-high seven shots on goal. He added one caused turnover and one ground ball.
Sophomore Ethan Rinker scored Chatham's other goal, trying Lubawy for shots on goal with seven. He notched three ground balls and a caused turnover as well.
Defensively, senior Clark Styles picked up a game-high five ground balls while also going 9-15 on face-offs. Junior Isaac Joshi would collect a team-second highest three ground balls.
In net, first-year Brett Zaruba went .500, stopping eight of 16 shots.
The Cougars now sit at 2-2 in conference play and 5-8 overall. They look to pull back ahead in the standings with their 4 PM senior day matchup against Franciscan on Saturday, April 22.
