WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - March 2, 2023 - Chatham Softball was back in action this afternoon at the Spring Games against Saint Mary's University (MN) and Adrian College. Both contests would go to the other team, with Saint Mary's winning 6-1 and Adrian taking a 14-6 victory.
In game one, senior Justine Boyle went three-for-four at the place, hitting a double.
First-year Ciera Jimenez scored the lone run after senior Alyssa Hoffman forced an infield error.
On the mound, first-year Victoria Murren struck out eight Cardinals.
Game two saw more offense from the Cougars. Senior Mackenzie Dun hit a two-run homer over the center fence, scoring fellow senior Lauren Haak. Chatham's remaining runs were driven in by Jimenez, junior Addison Mangieri, senior Kaitlyn Collins, and Boyle once more in her two-for-two effort.
Graduate student Paige Shaftic also had a game-high two hits in two at-bats against Adrian.
Murren added two more strikeouts to today's stat sheet against the Bulldogs.
The Cougars round out their spring break trip tomorrow afternoon with a 2/4:30 PM doubleheader against Russell Sage and Dubuque.
