PITTSBURGH, Pa. - January 14, 2023 - Chatham Swimming and Diving hosted Bethany and Saint Vincent Colleges this afternoon in a PAC trimeet. The women's team would split, defeating Bethany 115-79 and getting edged by Saint Vincent 57-203. The men would come up just short of Bethany with a final score of 45-79 and a 28-195 loss to Saint Vincent.
Junior
Karl Gangloff started the Cougars off with a first-place finish in the 200 free, finishing with a time of 1:53.22.
The Cougars' next highest finish came from a second-place effort out of
Abigail Glasspool in the 200 back, in which she finished in 2:31.59. Alexis Ray would secure another second-place spot in the 200 breaststroke, coming in at 3:00.49.
Rounding out the meet were Glasspool, Ray, Fiona Lilly, and
Hannah Kane in the 200 freestyle relay. They finished in second with a time of 1:42.28.
Hayden Acker would secure a third-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 1:12.45.
Hannah Kane would earn an identical placement in the 50 free with a time of 28.63, followed by
Sydney Sweger in fourth at 29.97. Kane would take fourth for herself in the 100 free at 1:03.20
Ali Cowan was the sole diver of the meet, scoring a 175.33 and a 260.60 in her events.
The Cougars retake the pool next Saturday, January 1st at Penn State Altoona where they will face the hosting Lions, Franciscan, and Pitt Bradford.
