Box Score

BETHANY, W.V. - September 29, 2022 - Chatham Volleyball traveled to Bethany College this evening for the final non-conference matchup of the season. The Cougars would take the first and second sets 25-22 and 25-20 before Bethany won two consecutive sets 25-10 and 25-18. The Bison would ultimately use this momentum to take the third set 15-9.

The Cougars got off to a hot start in set one, getting up 5-0 with junior Amelia Bogovich behind the service line. Kills were supplied by first-year Alyssa Leskovac and sophomore Jessica Taney during this time. Bethany would slowly work their way up to the Chatham lead and eventually surpass it. However, the Cougars were quick to regain the lead thanks to two service aces from senior Shaelah Pepperman and kills from Bogovich, Willott, and Taney. Pepperman and Leskovac would register the final kills of set one.

Chatham would come out strong again with Pepperman forcing defensive errors out of Bethany. Bogovich would start a kill streak of her own, supplemented by Leskovac, Willott, junior Baileigh Horan, and senior Rylee Ritko.

The third and fourth sets were dominated by the home team in an effort to extend the match, but still saw kills from Bogovich, Leskovac, and Horan.

The fifth set showed equal opportunity for both teams, but Bethany would unfortunately get the drop on Chatham.

Alyssa Leskovac led Chatham's offense with 14 kills, followed by Amelia Bogovich with 11. Shaelah Pepperman, Baileigh Horan, and Jessica Taney each added four. Pepperman and Meghan Dominek shared a team-high two aces each. The pair also tallied 33 assists and 28 digs respectively.

The Cougars begin conference play on their home court this coming Saturday, October 1st against Washington and Jefferson.
