Cougar Volleyball Stymied by President Defense in Washington

WASHINGTON, Pa. - September 22, 2022 - Chatham Volleyball headed to Washington and Jefferson College this evening for a non-conference matchup against the Presidents. After getting down two games to none, the Cougars would force a fourth set, but ultimately were bested in the final set by three points.

The first and third sets were both two-point games, one in favor of each team. Junior Amelia Bogovich would end up leading the way for the Cougars offensively with 13 kills, followed closely by first-year Abigail Willott with 12. Senior Rylee Ritko, junior Baileigh Horan, and first-year Alyssa Leskovac would tally eight, six, and five kills respectively.

Senior Shaelah Pepperman accounted for 45 of the Cougars' 48 assists on the night, with the other three being credited to junior Meghan Dominek. Dominek led the Cougars in digs with 29 in total.

The loss serves as a practice run for what will be another matchup against the Presidents on October 1st at home - this time for conference points.

Until then, the Cougars will host Franciscan on September 24th and Saint Vincent on September 27th, then head to Bethany on the 29th for one last non-conference contest.
