PITTSBURGH, Pa. – April 9, 2022 – The Chatham men's lacrosse team endured a stiff test with the two-time defending PAC champion Grove City Wolverines coming to town. The Cougars fell 25-5, dropping their record to 2-9 overall.
The first period was a tough go for Chatham, getting outscored 10-1. The lone goal of the first quarter was scored by sophomore
Riley Lewis, his first of the season. Then in the second, things did not get much better as the Cougars trailed 17-2 at the halftime break. The Cougars' second period goal was by graduate

The third period was more defensive, which played in the Cougars' favor. Both teams scored two goals in the stanza, with senior
Adam Bleess scoring both of the Chatham tallies. Classmate
Kyle Rullan opened up the fourth with a goal, but Grove City scored the next and final six goals to put the game to bed for good.
Chatham was outshot 56-29 for the game and 41-16 on goal. The Cougars cleared 19 of 23 attempts while Grove City was 18-23. First-year
Zen Smith started and took the loss, making eight saves. Senior counterpart
Shane Gaglione played the second half and stopped eight shots as well.
The Cougars look to regroup for a Friday evening tilt against Washington & Jefferson on April 15 at 7:00 at UPMC Graham Field.
