PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - February 18, 2022 - #13 Chatham University Men's Squash faced #12 Dartmouth College today in the first round of the College Squash Association National Championships at the University of Pennsylvania. Dartmouth got off to an early start that was maintained throughout, leaving the Cougars with a 9-0 loss.
Mohamed Sadek and Jared Nalliah would both fall in their respective matches 3-0 as the first Cougars to compete. Lucas Oliveira, however, as #7, would battle to a tied 2-2 match before ultimately being dealt a 3-2 loss.
In the second round, Haidar Jafry would battle back from a 2-0 deficit for a win of his own before his opponent Lucan White won the fourth and final set. Owais Rasheed would win his opening set 12-10 before losing three straight as the #2. Alaaeldin Abdelkhalik would ultimately fall to Dartmouth's Quintin Campbell in three sets.
Round three saw two first-set wins from both Abdul Malik and Agustin Carranza before Dartmouth's players came back with three straight wins each. Vinicius Ennius Muniz would fall 3-0 as the final match.
As a result of the loss, the Cougars will face the #16/#8 Franklin and Marshall Diplomats at 3 PM tomorrow, February 19th, in a consolation match.
