NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - November 2, 2022 - Chatham Women's Soccer was defeated in the PAC Semifinal by #1-seeded Westminster on Wednesday night. The 1-1 match needed penalty kicks to decide a winner, which the Titans won 3-1 after five rounds. This marks the Cougars' first PAC Tournament loss since 2019.
Chatham held an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal while Westminster led 5-3 in corner kicks.
The Titans struck first on a corner in the 23rd minute, but the Cougars maintained a visible advantage in possession and scoring changes throughout the contest.
Thanks to multiple timely saves from sophomore goalkeeper
Hannah Ehrlich, the Cougars were able to keep it a one-score match and finally took advantage in the 82nd minute when senior defender
Malia Hinton buried a shot off a feed from senior forward
Maggie Toomey.
Ehrlich made three more crucial stops in extra time, but the Cougars were unable to pull ahead.
