LANCASTER, Pa. - November 13, 2022 - Chatham Squash rounded out their trip to Lancaster this morning with a Women and Men's doubleheader against hosting Franklin and Marshall. The Women would fall 6-3 in the first match and then Men would take home a 9-0 sweep in the second.

In the first matchup, Basmala Syed Aref, Valentina Della Maddalena, and Sofia Pinto all notched wins against tough competition. Some of Aref and Della Maddalena's sets surpassed 11 points, but the Cougars were able to pull the results in their favor.

Sofia Ramos Fortanelli and Vasundhra Vasanthan each stole two sets from their competitors, and Farzeen Shaikh won one set against hers.

Ramos Fortanelli's sets were mostly two- or three-point differentials, as were Vasanthan's.

The Men's match resulted in a sweep, with several close competitions to show for it.

Abdul Malik Khan, Agustin Carranza, Lucas Oliveira, and Mohamed Sadek each defeated their competitors in the fifth round. Sebastian Antonio Vaca Sanchez finalized his win in the fourth set.

Muhammad Hassaan Raza, Jared Nalliah, Abdelrahman Walid Sadek, Haidar Jafry, and Alejandro Cruz all won in clean sweeps, helping the match along in Chatham's favor.

The Cougars return to Pittsburgh ahead of their next matchups, scheduled for Friday, November 18th at Shady Side Academy against Denison.
