Women’s Hockey Completes Chicago Series

Box Score

AURORA, IL - October 30, 2022 - Chatham Women's Hockey faced off against Aurora once again today, unfortunately suffering a loss to the #18 Spartans. The final score, including an empty-netter, was 5-2.

Two new Cougars would tally their first goals of the season today, starting with junior Ally Nolan in the first period, banking a shot off the Spartan goaltender on the post. This would cut the host team's lead in half to finish the period.

Aurora would come up with a payback goal toward the end of the second, but junior Allison Corser-James would pick off the Spartans' power-play for a short-handed, unassisted goal.

The Spartans would score off of a rebound in the third, followed by an empty-net goal with three minutes remaining.

Corser-James now leads the team in points with two, adding her assist on senior Brooke Almond's goal from yesterday.

Junior net minder Lilly Rogers had another busy day in net, stopping 46 of the 50 shots she faced. Combined with Saturday's game, Rogers now has 88 saves under her belt.

Sophomore Samantha Barrett registered an impressive eight blocks on defense. Almond would win a team-best eight face-offs.

The Cougars' next pair of contests are set for Friday and Saturday, November 4th and 5th, at Nazareth College for their conference opener.
