Swimming and Diving Bested by Behrend

ERIE, Pa. - October 28, 2022 - Chatham's Swimming and Diving teams traveled to Penn State Behrend this evening for a non-conference meet. Both teams would fall to the strong Behrend squads, the Women's team 134-80 and the Men's team 134-32.

The Cougars started the meet off with a 400 medley relay victory thanks to first-year Joelle Blake, sophomore Sydney Sweger, and juniors Jessica Brant and Abigail Glasspool. The foursome finished in 4:41.98.

Glasspool would have quite the productive night, securing first-place victories in the 50 freestyle (27.36) and 100 butterfly (1:06.57).

Blake would have two second-place finishes against Behrend competitors, swimming 2:23.44 in the 200 free and 5:57.94 in the 500 free.

Sophomore Ali Cowan was the sole diving competitor for the Cougars, scoring 168.05 and 1.94 in the 1M and 3M dives, respectively.

On the men's side, junior Karl Gangloff took first in the 100 freestyle at 52.48.

Gangloff and first-year Brady Gardner would also secure third-place finishes, Gangloff in the 1000 free (11:05.16) and Gardner in the 500 free (6:08.38).

The Cougars return to the pool next Saturday, November 5th at IUP, where they will face the hosting Crimson Hawks as well as Washington and Jefferson.
