CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - January 29, 2022 - Chatham University's Women's and Men's Squash programs traveled to the University of Virginia this morning. The teams would fall to their ranked opponents 0-7 and 0-5 respectively.

On the Women's side, the closest competitions would be credited to sophomores Sofia Ramos and Valentina Della Maddalena who totaled 16 and 17 points in their respective matches. Newcomer Giovanna Gibson would have the next best go at the Cavaliers, earning seven points.

For the Men, three matches would be sweeps in favor of the Cavaliers. Mohamed Sadek would steal the third set from Tyler Mackesy 11-5, forcing a fourth. Alaaeldin Abdelkhalik had the best match of any Cougar today, going five sets and accumulating a total of 42 points.

The Women's team has a break from competition until the College Squash Association National Championships, which will be held in Philadelphia from February 25-27.

The Men's team, on the other hand, will be hosting Navy and Western Ontario at the Rivers Club on Saturday, February 12th and Sunday, February 13th at 11:30 AM.
