Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Saint Vincent in Back-and-Forth Battle

LATROBE, Pa. - March 27, 2021 - Chatham Men's Lacrosse headed to Saint Vincent for a noon matchup against the Bearcats. Despite a valiant effort from the Cougars, the Bearcats came out on top by two for a final score of 11-9.

The first quarter was the lowest-scoring to date, with only two Bearcat goals and one Cougar goal, scored by senior Adam Bleess.

Bleess would once again score to open up the second quarter, then finish his natural hat trick after three consecutive Saint Vincent goals. Tyler Hayes followed with two of his own, this time with Bleess earning the assist as well as Michael Porreca.

Porreca started the Cougar scoring in the third before the Bearcats turned up the offensive pressure. They netted four uninterrupted goals before Dillon Dugan closed out the quarter with a man-up goal, assisted by Tyler Hayes.

Bleess and Hayes would score the final two Cougar goals of the game in the first six minutes of the fourth to bridge the scoring gap to 10-9 Bearcats. Saint Vincent scored one more insurance goal to end the game.

Goalkeeper Shane Gaglione had a season-high 16 saves. Zach Mayan won a season-high 15 face-offs for the Cougars.
