GROVE CITY, Pa. – November 3, 2021 – Much like the regular season meeting between Chatham and Grove City, 90 minutes was not enough. However, the script was flipped when it mattered most as sophomore
Aliyah Hunter netted the overtime game winner, advancing the Cougars to the PAC Championship game for the third year in a row.
The first half was middled with Grove City shots, 10 of them to be exact. Junior goalkeeper
Tyler Colburn stopped all seven shots on goal to keep the game scoreless at the break. The Cougars were able to lasso four shots, three of which were on goal, but could not find the nylon.
The Cougars and Wolverines needed an extra 4:11 to decide a winner. Colburn stopped the lone Wolverine shot, but a corner by junior
Greta Mort found Hunter for the game-winning score.
The Cougars were outshot 22-5 including 11-4 on goal, but Colburn stopped all 10 shots fired her way. The shots on goal were by Hunter, junior
Emily Harvey, sophomore
Malia Hinton and junior
Kaitlyn Ritter.
Chatham, which improves its record to 11-5-1, now turns its sights to the PAC Championship on Saturday, which will be hosted by top-seeded Westminster at a time yet to be decided.
