Cougars Roll in Season Opener

Box Score MONACA, Pa. – November 10, 2021 – The Chatham men's basketball team opened the 2021-22 season in impressive fashion, winning on the road 65-39 over Penn State Beaver. It marks the second largest season opening win in the program's seven-year existence.
 
After falling behind by a slim 3-2 score in the early stages, the Cougars embarked on a 13-0 run to take a comfortable 10-point lead at the halfway mark of the first half, a lead they would not relinquish. That advantage ballooned to an impressive 35-10 lead after 20 minutes of play.
 
Chatham continued to pour it on in the second half, leading by over 30 points at a couple points late in the second half to secure the mammoth victory.
 
The Cougars shot an impressive .458 from the floor and made eight of 28 three-point tries, good for just under 29%. Leading the way was senior Malik Potter, who scored 16 points. Classmate Ben Pollock went 7-8 from the floor and added 14 while junior Marcos Cintron added 11.
 
Chatham looks to defend home floor on Saturday, November 13 with the home opener against Carnegie Mellon at 1:00.
