PITTSBURGH, Pa. - October 30, 2021 - Chatham Men's Soccer hosted Bethany in the first round of the 2021 PAC Championship tournament after earning a fourth place finish. After a very physical 90 minutes, the Cougars were edged by one goal.
Bethany dedicated themselves to drawing fouls throughout the game, thus gaining frequent possession. They took advantage of this at the end of the first half and beginning of the second half.
First-year Xander Pinto would score 30 seconds after Bethany's second goal, heading a corner kick from senior Ryan Tahbaz.
The Cougars played aggressive offense throughout the second half but were met by a tough Bethany goalkeeper. First-year goalkeeper Trevor Rose made four saves for the Cougars as they fired off six shots of their own.
With the loss, the Cougars' season comes to a close. The 2021 team was the first to qualify for post-season play, let alone earn a hosting bid. Chatham finished 9-7-1 overall and 6-3 in conference.
