PITTSBURGH, Pa. – October 29, 2021 – The Chatham swimming teams split Friday night's swim meet with Penn State Behrend, with the women moving to 3-0 with a 126-105 triumph and the men falling 102-50 to the Lions.
The women got off to a hot start with a 400-yard medley relay victory with a strong showing by first-years

Lexi Ray,
Amy Jarvis and sophomore
Abigail Glasspool at 4:25.58. Jarvis then continued her immaculate start to her collegiate career with a 1,000-yard freestyle victory at 12:14.87. Cisco ended up taking the 50-yard freestyle in convincing fashion, winning with a final time of 25.76, beating out the top Penn State Behrend finisher by over two seconds.
In her first competition this season, first-year
Ali Cowan won the one-meter diving with a score of 212.75. She also won the three-meter diving portion of the meet with a 226.15 final tally. Jarvis then went on to win the 100-yard freestyle with the only time below one minute at 58.23. Cisco also won the 100-yard backstroke. The women finished the day with a first-place victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, turning away any chance for the Lions to win the meet. The quartet of first-years

For the men, sophomore
Karl Gangloff dominated the men's 1,000-yard freestyle with a 10:41.22 first-place showing and the 500-yard freestyle at 5:07.23. Sophomore
Avery Filey won the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:00.07 final time, and first-year
Hunter Holcomb claimed the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:13.46.
The Cougars enter conference play on Saturday, November 6 with a road meet at Washington & Jefferson College beginning at 1:00.
