PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Feb. 23, 2020 - The Cougars (2-0, 0-0) were back on the field on Sunday, February 23rd to take on the Griffins Gwynedd Mercy (1-1, 0-0) in their second matchup over the weekend. Chatham was riding a two game winning streak into the match, recently defeating the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley 12-10 on Saturday, February 22nd.

Chatham came out firing, scoring two quick goals within the first five minutes of the first quarter giving them an early 2-0 lead. The Griffins didn't answer with a goal of their own until the 4:43 mark in the first putting them on the board 2-1. Gwynedd Mercy continued the scoring trend in the second quarter, adding three goals to their score to give them a 4-2 lead going into halftime.

The Griffins continued their domination into the second half, putting together a pair of goals in the third quarter giving them a four goal lead going into the final quarter. Chatham put together one more score before finally falling to the Griffins 8-3 for their first loss of the season. Sophomore Jake Brown scored two of the Cougars three goals, while junior Daniel Napier netted the third.

The Cougars are back on the turf Saturday, February 29th as they will travel to take on Shenandoah University in a 1 PM matchup.
