WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Feb. 1, 2020– The Chatham University Women's Hockey team tied Wilkes in overtime play on the road Saturday afternoon 1-1.
RECORDS: The Cougars are now 5-11-2 (1-7-2 UCHC) while Wilkes is now 3-12-1 (2-7-1 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces King's in a conference matchup on the road Sunday, February 2nd. Puck drop is set for 3:00 PM.
SCORING SUMMARY: Chatham and Wilkes remained quiet in the first and second period.
The Cougars scored two minutes and one second into the third period, thanks to
Holly Ackerman, assisted by
Danielle Bos and
Jennie Piotrzkowski.
Wilkes would then score a power-play goal with less than five minutes in regulation to send the game to overtime.
The Cougars had three shots on net in overtime play but could not find the back of the net resulting in a tie, 1-1.
GOALTENDING: Katy Reed made 15 saves including six in the third period.
SHOTS LEADER: Fiona Danahy led the Chatham attack with 10 shots on goal.
