PITTSBURGH, PA. – Sept. 10, 2019 – The Chatham University men's soccer team took the field against La Roche tonight in the first-ever home game. The Cougars shut out the Red Hawks 2-0, earning their first-ever home win for the program.

In its inaugural season, Chatham improves to 2-2 overall. La Roche falls to 1-4 overall. The Red Hawks finished 6-11-1 in the 2018 season.

This win marks the first home field win for the men's soccer program in front of a crowd of 200.

Ryan Tahbaz. This marks Richard's first collegiate goal. The Cougars would find the back of the net in the final minute of regulation, when first-year
Marco Piccolo connected with Tahbaz. This was Tahbaz's first career goal as well!

Wyatt Cory was in net for the Cougars, earning the first shutout of his college career. Cory made seven saves to secure the victory.

Edgar Interiano-Lemus tallied a game-high nine shots this evening. First-year
Leandro Nasso picked up four shots, including two on frame. Richard,
Ren Matsushita and Piccolo each registered two shots.
COUGARS IN COMMAND
The Cougars had complete control of the game. Chatham outshot La Roche 22-8. The Cougars played aggressive, holding a 24-11 foul advantage over the Red Hawks.

The Cougars are back at Ellis Field this Saturday at 1 pm when they host the Mustangs of Hood College.
