ERIE, PA. – Sept. 1, 2019 – The Chatham University men's soccer team took the field against Alfred this afternoon in the consolation game of the Penn State Behren Tournament. The Cougars pulled off a 3-0 shut out victory over the Saxons, earning their first-ever win for the program. This also marks head coach

Edgar Interiano-Lemus from Clevend, Texas scored the first goal and game winner just nine minutes into the game. The goal game off a cross from first-year
Ryan Tahbaz, earning Tahbaz his second assist of the year. First-year
Jacobi Garrett went one v one with the goalie to score his first career goal at 17:43. Interiano-Lemus scored the third and final goal at 34:15 when he dribbled through the defense to beat the goalie one v one.
BACKLINE STRONG
The Chatham defense did not allow a single shot on goal in the entire 90 minutes, making first-year
Mazatl Torres-Perez's life easier in net. Torres-Perez recorded his first career shutout in today's victory.
COUGARS IN COMMAND
The Cougars had complete control of the game. Chatham outshot Alfred 15-5, including nine shots on frame. The Cougars played aggressive, holding a 12-8 foul advantage over the Saxons.
