Cougars edged by Titans 10-8

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – APRIL 13th, 2019 – Chatham University fell to PAC foe Westminster 10-8 this afternoon. The Cougars move to 8-5 overall, 3-2 PAC, while the Titans improve to 5-5 overall, 3-1 PAC.

THE SHORT STORY
Westminster jumped out to an early lead, holding a 6-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter. A goal by Chatham defenseman Ben Neal late in the second quarter kick started a seven goal scoring streak for the Cougars. By the beginning of the fourth quarter, Chatham had tied the game at 8-8. The Cougar defense stopped the Titans from scoring for nearly 48 minutes. Westminster would net two goals to secure the victory in the final minutes.  

KEY COUGARS
Jake Brown led the team with three goals. Dillon Dugan scored two goals. Ben Neal, Anthony Galioto, and Adam Bleess each netted one goal. Neal picked up nine ground balls and three caused turnovers. Galioto finished with two assists and three ground balls. Bleess added one assist and one caused turnover. Kyle Rullan chipped in three assists and six ground balls. Alec Vissotski went 14-for-19 in the faceoff X today, grabbing eight ground balls. Aidan Mullins earned three caused turnovers. Shane Gaglione was in the net for the Cougars. He registered 11 saves.
