PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 13th, 2019 – The Chatham University baseball team split the double-header PAC matchup against Grove City on Saturday afternoon winning in game one 7-5 before losing 19-8.
RECORDS: Chatham falls to 4-21 overall, 1-12 PAC. The Tomcats improve to 18-10, 8-4 PAC.
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars face Thiel on Monday. Chatham will host the Tomcats in a single game starting at 7:30 p.m.
GAME ONE (Chatham 7, Grove City 5)
AT THE PLATE: Caleb Lehman tallied two hits and one run while
Brett Vallorani went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Kevin Garcia had a homerun for the Cougars.
ON THE MOUND: Connor Paul secured the victory for the Cougars, pitching 7.0 innings and striking out two.
GAME TWO (Grove City 19, Chatham 8)
AT THE PLATE: Michael Nizinski went 2-of-3, scoring a homerun for the Cougars and one RBI. Vallorani went 1-for-2, scoring two runs.
ON THE MOUND: Austin Andonisio was tagged with the loss, striking out two. Five other Cougars were placed on the mound during the loss for the relief.
