PITTSBURGH, Pa. – MARCH 30th, 2019 – Chatham University kicked off PAC action with a 14-13 win over rival W&J. The Cougars move to 6-3 overall, 1-0 PAC, while the Presidents fall to 5-5 overall, 0-1 PAC.
THE SHORT STORY
Anthony Galioto started things off with a goal just over one minute in. W&J answered back with two goals. By the end of the first 15 minutes, Chatham held a 4-3 lead. The second half saw three Cougar goals and four President goals ending the first half in a 7-7 tie. The action stayed close in the third quarter, ending in an 11-11 tie. Despite an early goal by the Presidents in the final 15 minutes, Chatham responded with three goals in the final five minutes. W&J would score with 13 seconds remaining, but the Cougar defense held the Presidents off to secure the 14-13 victory.
KEY COUGARS
Anthony Galioto,
Adam Bleess and
Jake Brown led the Cougar offense, combining for 14 points in today's victory. Galioto and Bleess netted four goals apiece. Brown finished with three goals, three assists and five ground balls.
Will Petraglia,
Ben Neal and
Dillon Dugan found the back of the net once. Petraglia added the game-winning assist and two ground balls. Neal recorded nine ground balls.
Kyle Rullan chipped in three assists and five ground balls.
Alec Vissotski went 20-of-31 in the faceoff X, grabbing a team-high 11 ground balls. Current PAC Rookie of the Week
Ryan Dobson picked up five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
