Cougars take two from Pitt Greensburg in home opener 10-2

PITTSBURGH, PA – March 25, 2019 – The Chatham University softball team won both games in their home-opener doubleheader vs Pitt Greensburg, 10-2 in game one and 10-2 in game two. The Cougars led by eight runs to end each game in five innings.
 
RECORDS: Chatham now stands at 5-9 while Pitt Greensburg is 4-12 overall.
 
WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars travel to La Roche Wednesday for a non-conference double header starting at 3:00 pm.
 
GAME ONE (Chatham 10, Pitt Greensburg 2)
 
AT THE PLATE: The Cougar offense enjoyed six hits as first-year Alyson Adams finished with three RBIs and one hit.
 
Jenna Mulet and Amaya Walker drove in two runs.
 
Lead-off hitter Caitlin Worwood recorded one hit. 
 
IN THE CIRCLE: Junior Madison Howell tossed five innings, scattering one hit while striking out three Bobcats.
 
GAME TWO (Chatham 10, Pitt Greensburg 2)
 
AT THE PLATE: Chatham tallied 11 hits. Swedberg went 2-2 and junior Marissa Wightman went 2-for-4 at the plate.  
 
Adams drove in three runs while freshman Fiona Danahy drove in two.
 
IN THE CIRCLE: Sophomore Julie Swedberg pitched five innings, striking out two.
