PITTSBURGH, Pa. – FEBRUARY 9th, 2019 – The Chatham University women's basketball team fell to Geneva this afternoon 62-61. With the loss, Chatham moves to 12-12 overall and 8-7 PAC.Geneva improves to 3-19 overall and 2-10 PAC. Today was the senior day where Chatham recognized the six seniors and their accomplishments. It was also the annual alumni game.
Three Cougars scored in double figures in the loss. Senior
Katie Sieg earned her third double-double of the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds. She added six assists and two steals. Graduate student
Megan Sieg picked up 18 points, four rebounds and three assists. Senior
Ashley McClain finished with 14 points and three steals. Junior
Sierra Ungerman grabbed 10 rebounds for Chatham. Senior
Olivia Barkley chipped in five rebounds. First-year
Kaitlyn Fertig tallied four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals.
The game was a battle with 11 lead changes and ten tied scores. At the half, Chatham was up 32-28. With less than a minute remaining in the third, the Cougars were ahead 13 points. Geneva would rally in the fourth quarter to ultimately push past Chatham.
