PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Feb. 8, 2019 – The Chatham men's hockey team falls to Utica in a conference matchup Friday evening 5-1.
RECORDS: With the conference loss, Chatham falls to 5-15-2 overall, 3-11-1 UCHC while Utica improves to 14-6-2 overall, 11-3-1 UCHC.
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Nazareth in a conference matchup tomorrow, February 9th at Frozen Pond Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:10pm.
SCORING SUMMARY: Utica scored the first goal of the contest.
The Pioneers scored two goals in the second period, the second goal was short handed.
The Cougars scored their only goal of the contest in the third period.
Dan Bellafiore scored the goal at 6:22, thanks to assists from
Kirk Underwood and
Ricardo Gonzalez.
Utica scored two goals in the third period, one being an empty net goal with just seconds left in regulation.
GOALTENDING: Gonzalez suffered the loss for the Cougars, making 36 saves including 13 in the second period.
SHOTS LEADER: Clay Plyler notched a team high six shots on goal.
Cory King added five shots on goal.
FACE-OFFS: King went 13-6 in the face-off circle.
